Consultation with Parents
Parenting is the most difficult job in the world, and there is no formal training for it. Parents sometimes feel overwhelmed and frustrated with the many challenges of raising a child. They may need expert guidance on child development and some of the social, emotional, behavioral, and learning issues that their child may present. They may need information about school supports and other activities that may enhance a child’s growth. Consultations can serve to be a safe place for parents to discuss issues, raise questions, and receive guidance on a periodic or regular basis. Parent consultations are also a regular part of the ongoing therapy relationship when children are in therapy.
